Getlink Group Privacy Notice

Getlink is committed to ensuring that the personal information you give us is kept private and protected. Our privacy policies explain how we do this.

We hope the following information will answer any queries you may have, however should you require any additional information, please contact the Getlink Data Protection Officer using the contact details at the end of this Notice.

The diverse and bi-national nature of companies within Getlink means that each company issues Privacy Notices for their staff and their customers as appropriate. You can read these Notices by checking the company website below. Each Privacy Notice describes how the company uses personal data.

We collect and process personal data when you interact with us. The type of personal data collected depends on your relationship with each group company and is specified on each Privacy Notice.

Getlink companies work with trusted partners to ensure we provide high quality services and comply with the law and best practice. The range of services provided is diverse and set out within each group company’s website.

Each Privacy Notice describes how the company uses personal data and the legal basis for its use. The legal basis for use depends on your relationship with the Getlink companies but includes:

  • Where necessary to fulfil a contract, or take steps linked to a contract
  • Where necessary for the company’s legitimate interests
  • Where you give consent
  • For purposes which are required by law.

That depends on your relationship with us and the type of information we keep. Timescales vary if, for example you are a customer of Eurotunnel or a staff member with Europorte. The time for which data is kept is set out in each group company Privacy Notice.

We share personal data with other members of the Getlink companies to administer and manage group functions, with trusted third parties, such as our professional advisers and auditors, with government authorities and/or law enforcement officials and with other third parties providing services for the purposes set out in each group company Privacy Notice.

The accuracy of the information that we hold about you is important to us. If any of the information that we hold is inaccurate or out of date, please let us know using the contact details set out at the end of this Privacy Notice. You have the right:

  • To ask for a copy of your personal data
  • To have your personal data corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete
  • To have your personal data deleted
  • To restrict the processing of your personal data
  • To obtain the personal data you provide in a structured, machine readable format and ask us to share (port) this personal data to other organisations
  • To object to processing in some circumstances.

Where we have asked for your consent, you may withdraw consent at any time but this will not affect any processing which has already taken place at that time.
These rights may be limited in some situations – for example, where we can demonstrate that we have a legal requirement to process your data.
If you wish to exercise these rights, please contact us using the details below.
If you have unresolved concerns you have the right to complain to an EU data protection authority where you live, work or where you believe a breach may have occurred.

We take security seriously. We employ security measures to protect your information from access by unauthorised persons and against unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction and damage.

Some Getlink companies’ websites contain links to third party websites. Those third parties are required to comply with data protection principles and legal obligations. While we do our best to ensure that any linked websites associated with us operate to the highest standards we do not control the way they may process your personal data. We recommend that you read the Privacy Notice when you enter a new site and do not proceed unless you are sure your personal data will be treated properly.

Getlink companies’ websites contain cookies. Our Cookie Policies explain how cookies work and how you can manage them.

We keep our Privacy Notices under regular review and may update them periodically. When necessary we may also actively advise you of specific data handling activities or significant changes to our Privacy Notices as required by applicable law.

We hope that we can satisfy queries you may have about the way we process your data. If you have any concerns about how we process your data, feel free to discuss these with our Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted at:
