SAMPHIRE HOE EASTER EGG CHALLENGE

Come along and join in this eggcellent event. Bring along your specially decorated egg. Prizes will be given for the best ones. Then test your skills to the eggstreme with the egg and spoon assault course, egg rolling and wildlife egg head quiz (please bring your own spoon and a free range hard boiled egg) Donation appreciated. YOUNG PERSONS INTRODUCTION TO LOCAL WILDLIFE (Green Gang)

A fantastic range of wildlife lives on your doorstep. Come along and see if you would like to become a WCCP 'Junior Ranger'. Donation appreciated. Follow the treasure trail around Samphire Hoe to learn about the wildlife.

12.00pm INTRODUCTION TO THE JUNIOR RANGERS
A Junior Ranger has fun finding out about wildlife and the environment, while gaining certificates and badges for their achievements. This event is open to all young people including existing rangers. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Thank you. Donation appreciated. DISTANCE: 1.5 miles (1.5 hours). ST GEORGE'S DAY WALK

An easy evening stroll around Samphire Hoe to hear stories about St George and Shakespeare (who was born and died today) as well as a chance to see the early spider orchids. Samphire is mentioned in King Lear scenes of which were traditionally set here at Shakespeare Cliff. Donation appreciated. SAMPHIRE HOE DRAGON TALES AND OTHER STORIES

Join in a walk around the Hoe and discover the story of St George and the Dragon. We will hear other stories of dragons and strange events that have happened at the Hoe. If the weather is good we hope to see some live dragon like creatures. There will be a chance to design and colour in your own dragon. Donation appreciated. EARLY SPIDER ORCHIDS AT SAMPHIRE HOE

Join in a gentle walk around Samphire Hoe to see the early spider orchids which have colonised this addition to the Kent coastline. Donations appreciated. WALKABOUT LYDD

Conducted walk about the historic town of Lydd, to see the church, the Old Court House (no wheelchair access), Guildhall and museum, plus walking along the oldest street and viewing the oldest buildings etc.. Despite its small size, Samphire Hoe has a plethora of habitats each with its own specialized wildlife. We shall walk around the site discovering some of these species. Donation appreciated. SAMPHIRE HOE PEREGRINE FALCON WATCH

Come along and see the fasted bird in the world. There will be telescopes and binoculars available to look through to see these dramatic birds. This is a pictorial walk with some true stories and some that are slightly embellished, with some stories from the past and some more recent. All will reveal the fantastic story of Samphire Hoe. A chance to come and enjoy one of the last days of the summer holidays at Samphire Hoe. During the day there will be plenty to have a look at and join in with. There will also be a stall selling 2nd hand books on Natural History and local interest.

12:00pm - 4:00pm The Bug Road Show, displays, coastal collage and wildlife challenge trail.

13:00pm LEAPERS AND CREEPERS - Discover the weird world of mini-beast on a bug safari.
14:00pm BUGS AND BEASTS BADGE MAKING - Be inspired to make a bugtastic badge.
14:30pm GREEN GANG GAMES - Get active with games like Bat and Moth, Kestrel and Mouse and more.
15:00pm CHALK AND BERRY ART - Create your own masterpiece, wear old clothes that can get messy.
